Terry Joe Hudson

Terry Joe Hudson, 84, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on December 16, 2025.

Terry was born on December 30, 1940 to Woodrow “Woody” and Dorothy (Morris) Hudson in Peru, Indiana. His sister Sue was born on June 8, 1942. He attended Holman Elementary School, Peru Junior High School and Peru High School, graduating in 1959. Terry played high school football which ignited a lifetime love of watching Notre Dame Football and the Denver Broncos.

Terry met the love of his life, Bonnie Rairigh, at a high school basketball game. They were married on September 4, 1959. Terry attended Drafting school in Indianapolis and aspired to become a Draftsman. Their first son Kevin Joe Hudson was stillborn on April 5, 1960. Teressa Suzanne Hudson was born on April 3, 1961. He then started his lifelong career as a Special Agent with the Railroad. Vanessa Dawn Hudson was born on March 2, 1964. Terry Brett Hudson was born August 25, 1971.

Terry retired in 1999 after 38 years working for five railroads as a Special Agent and Manager of Damage Prevention Services. He was a member and Past Master of the Masonic Blue Lodge. He was a Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. After moving to Colorado, he joined Perfection Lodge #193 and was Worshipful Master in 1978 and in 1995. Terry joined Unity Chapter #97, OES, with his daughter, Teressa, in 1996 and served with her as Worthy Patron in 2004 and 2012. Terry has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Robert Russell Eastern Star Masonic Center for 16 years. Terry enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially found joy spending time with his grandsons and great-grandchildren.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Dorothy Hudson; sister Sue Plothow; and his son Kevin Joe Hudson.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Rairigh) Hudson; children Teressa Hudson, Vanessa (Chris) Campbell, Brett (Rebecca) Hudson; grandchildren Nick (Lisa) Hudson, Ryan (Taylor) Sayre, Jake (Brittany) Hudson, Michael Hudson; great-grandchildren Hazel and Henry Hudson; brother-in-law Jerry Plothow; and numerous cousins, friends and extended family members.

A Public Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 23, at 9:30 AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM, both at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, located at 7577 W 80th Avenue, Arvada, CO 80003. Interment will take place at the Arvada Cemetery, 5581 Independence Street, Arvada, CO 80002.
