Terrence Dean Erickson, born June 11, 1940, passed away March 12, 2023 at his home
in Hartsel, Colorado. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Diessner,
Kimberly (Rick) Davis and his son Dean (April); grandchildren Ina (Andrew) Castillo,
Jackie (Carl) Anderton, Andrew Diessner, Joseph Diessner, Sean Diessner, Alex
Erickson, James Erickson, and Laramie Davis; great grandchildren Ariana Castillo, AJ
Castillo, Zachary Hirsch and Aidan Hirsch; brothers Rodney, Bernard, Mickal and
Landis; sisters Sandy and Ina. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years,
Carolyn Mae Huebner, brothers Leonard, Lyle, Richard; sisters Alice, Arlene, Phyllis,
Jeanette, and Ellen.
Terry was born and raised in Minnesota. He graduated from Barnesville High School
and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he was a radioman aboard the USS
Myles C. Fox, and the USS Forrestal. He also spent two years in London, England with
the Navy. After his honorable service discharge, he married his high school sweetheart,
Carol. Terry had a career in the trucking industry beginning with Consolidated Freight
and ending with Garret Freight (ANR Freight) in accounts receivable. He moved his
family from Minnesota to Montana, Idaho and Colorado. He settled in Hartsel, Colorado
where he built his own house.
Terry was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed lifetime
membership. He was elected Grand Knight and received the honor of Knight of the Year
for the Diocese of Boise in Idaho. He spent time as a little league football coach and
working with the youth group at his parish in Pocatello. He enjoyed fishing, duck and
goose hunting and camping. He and Carol loved to square dance and made many
lifelong friends.
A rosary and visitation service on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Horan &
McConaty located on Grant Street and 101st. The following day, Wednesday, March 29,
2023 there will be a Mass at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Littleton followed
immediately by interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Donations can be made to
