Terrell “Terry” Charles Fridh, born August 7, 1936, at Epworth Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, passed away on May 7, 2026. He was the beloved son of Carl and Esther Fridh, and is survived by his devoted wife, Janet Fridh, and their son, Eric Fridh.
Terry grew up in South Bend and graduated from Central Senior High School in 1954. He went on to study Electronic Engineering Technology at Valparaiso Technical Institute, graduating in 1961. His dedication to service led him to the United States Navy from 1957 to 1959, where he served aboard the destroyer John A. Bole. After his honorable discharge, Terry continued his education at Purdue University, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1963.
In 1962, Terry married the love of his life, Janet Naragon of Galien, Michigan. Their honeymoon was an adventure that set the tone for a lifetime of exploration—driving a VW Bug across the country to the Seattle World’s Fair and visiting national parks along the way.
Terry began his professional career at Sperry Univac as a Field Engineer and rose to Systems Analyst Manager. He later transitioned into the computer leasing industry, ultimately founding his own lease consulting business. He retired in 2000, proud of the career he built through curiosity, determination, and technical expertise.
A man of many passions, Terry loved fishing, sports—especially basketball and football—automobiles, and travel. He was a loyal Purdue sports fan, cheering for Notre Dame only when they weren’t playing his Boilermakers. His enthusiasm for cars led him to own many makes and models over the years, and his love of the open road took the Fridh family across much of the United States. Their journey together included living in numerous states and even abroad in Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands.
In retirement, Terry and Janet found joy and peace at the cabin they built in the Gore Pass area of Colorado—a place that reflected Terry’s appreciation for nature, craftsmanship, and time spent with those he loved.
Terry will be remembered for his warm spirit, sense of humor, his adventurous heart, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the places explored, and the lives he touched along the way.
Committal with Navy Honors will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 2:30pm, Fort Logan National Cemetery.
