Teresa Gleason

Teresa B. Gleason touched many lives throughout her 92 years. She passed away at her home in Lakewood, Colorado on June 30, 2022. She was born on February 18, 1930, in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, to Ellen and Thomas Campbell. She was graced with four sisters (Roseleen Campbell, Mary Cormacain, Frances Campbell, Bernadette McCann) and seven brothers (Thomas Campbell, Damian Campbell, Desmond Campbell, Adrian Campbell, Ciaran Campbell, Paul Campbell, Dominic Campbell). Soon after graduating boarding school, she was excited for the opportunity to come to America in 1950. She was extremely proud to become a United States citizen soon after.

Teresa was an active member of the Irish Club of Denver, and it was there that she met her future husband, James Patrick Gleason. They were married in 1953 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Denver. Teresa and James raised their four children in Denver and all of them still reside in the area.

Teresa is survived by her children, Mary Pat Gleason, Thomas Gleason, Maureen Layman (Greg) and James Gleason; grandchildren Erin Rhoads (Mike), and Kerstin Layman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 1988.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 5:30PM at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. Recitation of the Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Teresa’s life will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Christ on the Mountain Catholic Parish, 13922 W. Utah Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado 80228, with a reception to immediately follow. There will be an escorted procession from the church to the cemetery, for a Graveside Service at Mount Olivet Cemetery at 2:30pm.
