Tara Colleen Byrne

Tara Colleen Byrne 1/9/1952 – 9/17/2026. She passed after a short battle with cancer on September 17th.

A Colorado native, Tara was a lover of Shakespeare and volunteered at the Denver Shakespeare Festival for many years. She also fervently loved her Denver Broncos, dogs, and her many dear friends.

She graduated from University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas with a BA in Education and from Avila University in Kansas City, Misouri with MA in Education. She taught for many years in Kansas then returned home to her beloved mountains, (Denver) and taught at Machebeuf High School, Lake Middle School, North High School and Parker Vista Middle School.

Survived by siblings: Debbie Sencenbaugh (Bob), Cathie Byrne, Charleen Byrne Dowdell, Mason Lewis Byrne, and Charles Byrne, and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held at Horan-McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood CO 80227, on October 22,2026, at 12:30 PM. A Private family burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
