Tania Yvonne Morris

Tania Yvonne Morris passed away in her home on June 19, 2024 at 47 years old. She graduated from Rangeview High School in 1994. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Management from the University of Phoenix in 2008 and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2016. Tania dedicated her life to helping others, working at Maple Manor Care Facility for individuals with schizophrenia in Charleston, South Carolina from 1999 to 2002 shortly after she married Jason L. Finley. After they moved back to Aurora, Colorado, where Tania was born and raised, she started working at the Aurora Housing Authority in 2003 as a receptionist. She continued working at the Aurora Housing Authority until she passed working her way up to the Director of Assisted Housing. In 2016, she started her own private therapy practice, Healing Tree Counseling. 

Tania loved traveling, story telling, music, spending time with friends and family, spoiling her daughter, Jett and dog, Dasher, and was always trying something new. Her faith, love, strength, diligence, and humor touched so many who crossed her path. Throughout her four year battle with colon cancer, her trust in God, herself, and those she loved never wavered and serves as an inspiration to those who knew her. Tania is preceded in death by her parents, Cleophus Morris and Shirlean Edmonds, cousin, Arthur Lee Ashley III, and five aunts and two uncles. She is survived by her husband, Jason L. Finley and daughter, Jett L. Finley of Aurora, Colorado, cousins Arletha Ashley, Arlene (Ken) Lanier, Darlene (Mark) Ashley-Jenkins, all of Denver, Colorado, Terri (Gil) Brown of Arlington, Virginia, five aunts, one uncle, and many cousins and friends.  

A photo viewing will be held on July 13, 2024 at 10:00am and a Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am at Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014. A post service lunch will be held at Q’s Quisine, 5428 S Parker Rd, Aurora, CO 80015 at 12:00pm. 

We request that everyone wear green and white to celebrate Tania’s life. Our family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support. We are so blessed to have Tania’s light and be apart of her amazing legacy.
