Tameysin "Tammy" Williams, 80, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Tammy was born on October 8, 1945 in Madera, California, and was adopted by Paul R. Powers and Nancy Galbraith Powers. She was raised in Safford, Arizona, where she developed the strong values and warm spirit that would define her life. Tammy went on to attend Arizona State University, where she earned a degree in education.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Richard C. Williams, with whom she shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Paul R. Williams and Nicole C. Sheehan, and her four grandchildren: Carter, Brady, Edie, and Sophie.
Tammy dedicated her life to teaching, spending 36 years as a kindergarten teacher, most of them with Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs. She had a gift for nurturing young minds and was beloved by her students, their families, and her colleagues.
Ten years before her passing, Tammy was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer. Demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience, she defied expectations and lived for a decade while battling the disease, much of that time in partial remission. Her courage and grace inspired all who knew her.
Outside of her professional life, Tammy found great joy in skiing, boating, and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and deep love for those closest to her.
