Susanna (Ihasz) Poor, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at age 76.
She was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1949 to Sandor and Etelka Ihasz, and during the Hungarian Revolution, they emigrated to the United States in 1957. They first lived in New Jersey before ultimately making Denver the family’s home. She was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a degree from Metropolitan State College in Denver. She later worked in banking for 20 years before retiring in 2013.
Susan is survived by her children, Catherine Stephanie (Chris) and Michael Stephen (Katie), as well as her grandson, Calvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandor and Etelka.
Susan took special joy in baking and cooking. She will always be remembered for the wonderful Hungarian pastries and baked goods she prepared during the holidays. She loved spending time with her friends and family, and the dinner table was always a place of laughter and love. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and reading good books.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, at 11 a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO, with a reception to follow.
