Steven Joseph Lancaster, beloved son, sibling, friend, and partner, of Thornton, passed away at his home on August 26, 2025. He was 31 years old. Steven was born in Houston, Texas on July 13, 1994 to David Lancaster and Jessica Murray
Steven and his family moved to Colorado in 1996. Steven grew up and attended schools in the Thornton/Northglenn area. He graduated from Mountain Range High School in 2012. After graduation, he went on to work in Westminster, Colorado at HuHot. It was during this time that he met his person; the love of his life, Jayme, in 2016. Steven then went on to pursue his dream of working in Golden, Colorado at the Coors Can Plant. Steven and Jayme went on to adopt their first four legged child, Barley, in 2020, followed by their second four legged child, Penny, in 2022. Steven was an amazing dog dad, and his dogs were so important to him. In June of 2025, Steven and Jayme announced the exciting news of expecting their first child, Shania, in February 2026. Steven was ecstatic to become a father.
Steven had a passion for the outdoors. He had many hobbies that reflected that passion. He loved to fish, disc golf, and camp. Steven was hilarious, had the most amazing sense of humor, and his laughter was contagious. He had a gift of always making those around him feel loved. His family and friends were always the most important part of his life, and consistently showed up for them.
Steven is survived by many family members, that include his partner, Jayme Holland; his expected child, Shania Lancaster; his parents, Jessica Murray and David Lancaster; his siblings, Joshua Lancaster, Michael Lancaster, and Nicole Lancaster; his nephews, Isaiah Lancaster and Jayceon Lancaster; his aunts and uncles, Ted Murray, Marcy Murray, Mary Mitchell, Brian Lancaster, Michael Lancaster, and Matt Lancaster. Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joan Murray, Joan Lancaster and Alan Lancaster.
A Celebration of Life will be held, 11am, Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Chapel, 9998 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. Interment will take place 1pm, Wednesday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, CO. A reception will be held immediately after at Prospect Park at 44th Ave & Robb St. Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
