Remembering Steve’s Life and Legacy
Stephen Perry Weiner, 83, of Aurora, Colorado died on March 15th, 2026. He is carried in the hearts of his sister Laurie, his brother Bob, his nieces Dawn and Jennifer, and his nephews Louis, Brandon, and Aaron, as well as great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Steve was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, first child of John and Frances Weiner. He was predeceased by them, and by his much-loved brother Rick.
Career and Accomplishments
Steve devoted his professional life to aerospace engineering. His distinguished career began at the Boeing Company, continued as part of the team building the Lunar Module at the Jet Propulsion Lab, and concluded at Lockheed Martin, where he worked as an Aerospace Systems Engineer until his retirement.
Passions and Interests
Steve was a man of great curiosity. Though he often appeared serious and reserved, beneath that exterior lay a deep love for classical music, especially Beethoven—along with a passion for theater, musicals, travel, and great food. Sitting beside Steve at one of his favorite musicals, it was hard not to join in as he conducted and hummed along with the music.
He relished engaging in thoughtful conversations and was known for his willingness to debate a wide range of topics, sometimes simply for the sake of argument. Most of all, Steve was an avid sports enthusiast. He coached Little League for many years in Alabama and in Colorado, watched every kind of televised sport, and went to baseball games every year.
A Generous Spirit
Steve’s generous spirit and big heart shone through every aspect of his life. He brought people together for trips, family gatherings, symphonies, plays, and the annual Denver restaurant week—inviting many friends to share in the experiences that gave him so much joy.
We love you, Steve.
