Stephen was born in Denver, Colorado on October 11, 1967, and passed away on October 10, 2021 after a 7 month battle with cancer.
He graduated from Arvada High School in 1986. Stephen enlisted in the United States Navy in 1987. Stationed first in the Persian Gulf for 1 year and then Holy Loch, Scotland for 2 years. After returning to civilian life in 1991, he was employed by the Denver Post where he worked for over 30 years until the time of his death. Stephen is survived by his parents Stephen and Charmaine Linder of Arvada, his younger brother Robert Linder of Longmont, his cat Cali, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Stephen was passionate about science fiction, football, and gaming. Star Trek, Star Wars, and Firefly were his favorite shows & movies. He was a life-long fan of the NFL with equal love of the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an avid online gamer on X-BOX and PlayStation. His online friends knew him as KingDeuce67. He loved joking around and making people laugh.
Stephen also deeply loved animals. During his life he had a dog and several cats as his companions. All rescue animals. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his name to the Longmont Humane Society (www.longmonthumane.org/donate).
