Dr. Stanley David Carson, prominent Denver cardiovascular surgeon, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024 at age 78. He graduated first in his Tulane Medical School Class. Dr. Carson practiced in Colorado his entire career, saving many lives, including the Archbishop of Colorado in 1984.
Dr. Carson was an ardent nature photographer. He loved capturing scenes in Colorado making trips with John Fielder and fellow photographers. His hobby took him to many countries including European sites, Tanzania, Patagonia, Iceland, the Galapagos Islands and Costa Rica. He also had his SCUBA diving certification to do underwater photography.
Stanley is survived by his high school sweetheart, medical school classmate and wife of 56 years, Dr. Bonita Carson, son Dr. Bryan Carson and three granddaughters, Alia, Anniese and Alora.
A celebration of life will be held on June 6th, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital, Russell Pavilion, from 3-5 p.m.
