Sonja Ray Schrock

She was born in Dayton Ohio in 1944 to Raymond and Marie Hall. She was raised by her loving Grandparents who instilled the importance of love, faith and hope throughout her life.

Her family was the most important thing to her and she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She taught us so many things; that as long as we have each other, we can get through anything and to find the strength in ourselves, to do better, to move forward and to love family unconditionally.

She had the most beautiful soul and the kindest heart. We will forever remember her drive and determination and how she stood firm in her faith and values.

She was courageous, loving and she lit up a room when she smiled. Her positive, fun-loving energy was infectious. Her hugs were always full of love and brought peace no matter what was going on in the moment. She felt like home, she was always our safe place. The love we have for her will last us all through eternity. She was our defender, our cheerleader and taught us that hard work, honesty and taking the high road was the only way.

She was the foundation that our family was built upon and kept our family united and strong. She reached down and lifted us up every day. Now it's up to us to keep building upon that foundation and continue her legacy.

We are who we are because of her love and sacrifice. Her legacy is us and we will honor that for the rest of our lives.

She lived a full life and was a good and faithful servant.

She is survived by her children; Darlene Schrock, Deb Olszewski (Mark), Tom Schrock and Sonja M. Schrock (Fred Birner), her Grandchildren Amanda Byers (Travis) and Megan Kuta (Joe) and her many Great Grandchildren Taylor St. Cyr, Abigail Byers, Trent Byers, Austyn Byers, Payson Kuta and Oliver Kuta.

A Visitation for Sonja will be held on Wednesday January 12th from 2:00PM-4:00PM at Horan & McConaty – Aurora. Details can be found below.
