Sondra Jean IntVeldt Willis, age 81, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Diane Hahn, on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Sondra was born on December 6, 1938 in Vinton, Iowa to Helen and Jack IntVeldt. She met her husband, Marshal ""Tex"" Willis, at the University of Iowa where she completed her Associate Degree in Nursing. They were married on August 20, 1960.
Sondra and Tex moved to LeSeuer, MN after college where Sondra worked as an LPN until she had her first child. Thereafter, Sondra was a homemaker until her daughters were at ages that she felt comfortable also working part-time as a Dental Assistant.
Sondra, Tex and their daughters spent most of their years together in Iowa, including Orange City, Sioux City and Des Moines/Urbandale. After the girls were in college, Sondra and Tex also lived in Minnesota and Maryland. When their first granddaughter was born in Denver, they moved to Denver shortly thereafter.
Known for her outgoing personality, Sondra never met a stranger. People often told her their life stories shortly after meeting her, and she was an excellent friend. Sondra enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and often won with her uncanny card sense. She also enjoyed golfing with friends and hit an impressive long ball. Sondra was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and P.E.O. where she developed many close friendships.
Sondra and Tex also greatly enjoyed travel and visited everywhere they had on their bucket list. They especially loved traveling with Sondra's sister, JoEllen, and her husband, Dennis Nauman, as well as several of their close friends.
Faith and family were Sondra' s top priorities, and she raised her daughters as Christians who put family first after God. The tight bonds between both close and extended family members is due to Sondra's example of living out her belief that family bonds are the most crucial bonds we have on this earth.
Sondra is survived by her husband, Tex, her daughters: Connie Page and Diane Hahn; her grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew Hahn, Brittany and Ashley Limes, and Daniel Stevinson; as well as her three great- grandsons, Carter, Colton and Cade Hahn.
Sondra will be cremated and laid to rest at Horan & McConaty Memorial Gardens at County Line and Holly in Centennial, CO. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, when the COVID-19 restrictions have passed.
