On Sunday, July 13th, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado, our beloved son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, Silverio “Silver” Xauier Suniga, was tragically taken from us. He was 19 years old.
Silver was born on December 19, 2005, in Lone Tree, Colorado, and from the very beginning, he lit up every room he entered. He knew how to take up space with such grace, love, compassion, and silliness that you couldn’t look away. He had a magnetic presence — the kind that made people feel seen, safe, and valued. He had a boldness to do the right thing.
He was a man of honor. A protector. A giver. He was the sun in our little galaxy — the warmth and brightness that held so many of us together.
The day he was born was one of the happiest days of our families lives. He came into this world surrounded by love and joy, and he gave it all back ten-fold, every day he was with us. We are so proud of the man he was becoming, and so incredibly heartbroken that we won’t get to see him grow into all that he was meant to be.
Silver was an athlete and a teammate, passionate about football, wrestling, and rugby. He carried that same heart into service, helping with Unified Sports in Douglas and Cherry Creek County schools and volunteering with the Special Olympics in Douglas County. He also supported softball programs at Eaglecrest High School. Silver worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism. Whether on the field or in the community. Silver showed up for others with strength, kindness, and an easy smile.
Silverio is proceeded in death by his sister Sabella Linda Suniga, great great grandparents Silverio and Gloria (Herrera) Mendoza, great grandmothers Linda Dalia (Mendoza) Suniga, Virginia Ellen (Crabb) Bruch. Aunts and Uncles Silverio Jr Mendoza, Jose Ricardo Mendoza , Juan Mendoza, Yolanda G. (Mendoza) Reyes, Maria Alma (Mendoza) Alacaraz, and Patricia Mendoza. As well as cousin Rosario Yolanda Reyes.
Silverio leaves behind a family who loved him more than words can express: his mother and father Monique(Suniga)Kinch and Shawn Kinch, sisters Salicia Suniga-Kinch and Sofia Suniga-Kinch. Gandparents Alan and Linda Bruch, Eric Kinch and Joyce Kinch. Great grandfathers C.R. Bruch and Toribio Zuniga. Aunts and uncles Josiah Bielss, Dallas Kinch, Daniel and RayAnne Mebane, Mariah Mebane and John Rogala, Isaiah Mebane, Caleb Bruch, Penelope Bruch, Zayla Bruch. Cousins Kendrick Mebane and Zuri Mebane. Silverio also left behind his sweeties Josie and Caiden Young. As well as many great aunts, unlces, extended cousins, countless friends, teammates, and community members whose lives he touched with his humor, warmth, and heart.
A funeral service to honor Silverio’s life will be held on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Landmark Tabernacle in Denver, Colorado. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support Silver’s farewell and his family during this time:
