Sidney William Spry

Sidney “Bill” Spry, age 75, died at home of a heart attack on May 17. He was born in Sanford, FL to W. Kenneth Spry and Harriette (Swarthout) Spry. He grew up in Mission, KS. He had a BA in economics from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and an MA in social studies from Western State College in Gunnison, CO. He worked for the Federal Railroad Administration as a safety inspector before retirement.

After retirement, Bill was an open space volunteer helping keep Aurora's trails and parks cleared of litter. He had a quick wit, a wry sense of humor, he loved animals, and offered any stray cat who showed up food and shelter.

Survivors include his wife Pamela K. Spry, brother Ronald Spry (Barbara) and niece Erin Spry. No memorial service is planned, but memorial contributions are welcome at any animal shelter.
