Shirley Marie Musselman

Shirley was born June 9, 1932. She passed peacefully at her home.

When she was eight months old she was adopted by Frank and Sadie Giller. She grew up on the family farm, known as Giller's Pansy Gardens, located at 6290 Tennyson. Helping her father collecting pansy seeds to sell internationally. Shirley acquired her love of pansies and gardening. Her mother instilled creativity and love of animals. She loved raising cocker spaniels. Shirley learned to crochet, which lead to many other endeavors later in life.

Always Doing - Always active!

Shirley attended Baker Elementary School and graduated from Westminster High School. She lettered in both Band-playing the French horn and in Sports-playing softball First Base. Shirley was playing one of her softball games at Hirshorn Park's softball diamond located at 30th Avenue and Tejon; where she met the love of her life, Don Musselman.

During the early years raising two young sons, she attended Emily Griffith Opportunity School for their Food Service Studies Program. She worked in Denver Public Schools cafeterias making breads and cinnamon rolls. Cinnamon rolls became a family favorite on holidays.

Beyond family, activities continued. Fast pitch softball, square dancing and golf. She made her "Hole in One" on August 24, 2004 on the 11th Hole at the Wellshire Golf Club. Weaving became a favorite. Shirley enjoyed those activities where she could be with her friends-both love dancing and playing cards. Shirley loved family and friends alike.

Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Muselman. Surviving her are children: Damon (Karen) and Ray (Elaine) Musselman. She leaves behind three grandchildren: Seth, Joseph and Adina; four great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Taylor, Gavin and Nolan.

A legacy of love, strength and character.
