In memory of Shirley DeLeon:
Today, we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Shirley DeLeon, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on April 12, 1962, to proud parents Michael and Marcella DeLeon (Lucero). Shirley graced this world with her presence, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
As the eldest of three sisters, Bernice DeLeon, Arlene Vasquez (Russell), Daylene DeLeon and two brothers Michael DeLeon Jr. (deceased) and David Quintana, Shirley embraced her role as a sister with unwavering love and devotion. She cherished her family deeply, finding joy in every moment spent with her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, earning her the title of "second mom" to many.
Above all, Shirley was a devoted mother to her four cherished children: Michael, Shantelle, Marcella, and Floyd. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she took immense pride in watching them grow and thrive. Yet, her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, Alisha, Jodeci, Adrian, Ciana, Jaslynn, MaryKate, Ajulious, and great-grandson Angel, showering them with endless love and affection.
Shirley's zest for life was contagious, and she had a gift for making friends wherever she went. With her infectious laughter and warm smile, she lit up every room she entered. Her magnetic personality, coupled with her quick wit and sense of humor, ensured that she was always the life of the party.
A talented crafter and creator, Shirley poured her heart and soul into every project she undertook. Her creativity knew no bounds, and she delighted in sharing her beautiful work with others. Shirley's artistic talents left a lasting impression on all who admired her creations.
Throughout her life, Shirley remained true to herself, standing up for what she believed in and embracing each moment with grace and courage. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we bid farewell to Shirley, let us take comfort in the memories we shared and the love she bestowed upon us. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through life's journey.
Rest in peace, dear Shirley. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
