Sherrie Hill

July 28, 1938 — November 23, 2020

Sherrie Elenora Hill was born on July 28th, 1938 in Reisterstown, Maryland.  She went to be with the Lord early in the morning on November 23, 2020 in Aurora Colorado.

She was born to the parents of Robert Leo and Eliza Brown.  She is the oldest of 5 living brothers and sisters.  She is the aunt of 19 nephews and nieces. Sherrie was married for 56 years to James D. Hill Sr. who pre-ceased her to heaven.

She has left behind her children- daughter- Glynis Stansell, son- in- law, Bill Stansell, son- James D. Hill Jr., daughter- in- law, Jana Hill, her grandchildren, Will Stansell, Sydney (Hill) Reneau, Kelby Reneau, Grant Hill, and great grand- child Wren Reneau.  Aunt- Mrs. Estelle E. Gibson, Aunt- Ida Gehee, Brothers and Sisters- Robert Leo Brown Sr., Evelyn Dorman, Charles Brown, Kathleen Woodlin, and Dennis Brown.

Sherrie received her high school diploma from Douglas High School, and then supported her husband in his 20+ year’s military service. She also supported and partnered with her husband in pastoral ministry for over 50 years.

Sherrie was first and foremost a homemaker to her family, and later a Ward Secretary for North Suburban Hospital in Thornton, Colorado.  She was a proud member of the Red Cross, a member of many church choirs, and was a Nursing Home Volunteer. Sherrie was always glad to give to Bonfils Blood Drives and the Disabled American Veterans.

Sherrie loved to walk, sing, read the newspaper and Bible, write, and fish. She loved to plant flowers, and had a special love for dogs. Sherrie enjoyed Drums Along the Rockies and watching the Broncos with her husband.

Sherrie enjoyed military life and loved flying the American flag proudly from her home.  One of Sherrie’s deep passions was telling people about Jesus and she gave out tracts where she went. Sherrie loved ministry work, especially in Mexico, and enjoyed living in Japan where her son James was born.

She loved walking the beach at Carmel by the sea in California. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV.  Sherrie has many friends and extended- family who will miss her.

Sherrie was laid to rest with her husband Jim (James) on Tuesday, December1st, 2020 at 9:15am.
