Shawn M. Sweeney

Shawn M. Sweeney (aka “Shawn ‘Til Dawn” ) was a radio DJ in Honolulu, HI for more than 20 years. His career spanned multiple stations but most notably KIKI and KSSK. He also had a long career in hospitality: working for Mid Pacific airlines in Hawaii and Air Wisconsin in Washington DC . Shawn also served as a Concierge at one of Denver’s most prestigious hotels, the Brown Palace. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard E. Sweeney, and his twin sister, Sharyn Burden. He is survived by his mother, Dr Arlyn G. Sweeney, and his older brother, Patrick Sweeney & Pat’s wife Diane Sweeney, his “Hawaii grown” family Alicia Sweeney, Julia A. Loya, Tory M. Sweeney, Ashley Sweeney and their families Victor Loya, Madison Loya, Drew Glasier, Trent Agent and Jenisa Loya. He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews and their families whom he loved and cherished. He is most remembered for his boisterous laugh and contagious smile, his great sense of humor and warmth that he brought to a room with his sheer presence , and his ability to always see and point out the sunny side of every situation. In honor of Shawn a Visiting hour/ Vigil Service will be held Sunday June 24, 2018 5:00PM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 East Dartmouth Ave. Aurora, CO 80014). Liturgy of Word service, 10:30AM, Monday June 25, 2018 at St. Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church (19099 E Floyd Ave, Aurora, CO 80013) followed by reception.
