It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Shawn.

Shawn embraced life with enthusiasm and an open heart. He had a gift for bringing people together and his home was often filled with laughter, great food, and the people he loved most. Whether he was hosting a backyard gathering, standing at the grill preparing a meal, or trying a new recipe in the kitchen, Shawn found joy in sharing good times with family and friends.

Music was also a passion of Shawn’s. Every year he looked forward to getting the KBCO Studio C, CD. It was a tradition that brought him excitement and reflected his appreciation for great music. The soundtrack of his life was filled with songs that brought back memories and connected him to those around him.

Shawn also found peace and pride in his yard and garden. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, creating a welcoming environment where family and friends could gather. His love for entertaining made everyone feel comfortable. His generosity, warmth, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

More than anything, Shawn loved his dogs. JoJo gave him great peace from the day he brought him home, particularly during his passing. Shawn loved life. He lived it fully. He celebrated the simple moments and reminded those around him to appreciate everyday. His kindness, laughter, and jest for living will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Shawn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. He is survived by his son Nick James, Brothers Sam, Joe and Terry, his sisters Bridget, Patti, and Teresa. Shawn maintained deep friendships with school friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone he considered a friend. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created, the meals he shared, the music he loved and the joy he brought to others will live on.

There will be a funeral mass on Friday, August 7th, at 1:00, followed by a reception in the parish hall.

The service will be held at St. James Catholic Church 1311 Oneida St. Denver, Co.
