Sharon York

Sharon Kay (Christenson) York, age 76, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on February 26, 2023. Sharon was born in Ames, Iowa on January 1, 1947 to Burlin and Jean Christenson. She was the oldest of five siblings. Michael (Karen) Christenson of Polk City, IA; Ronald (Linda) Christenson of Council Grove, KS; Denise (David) Waldo of Minneapolis, MN, Sandra (Kirk) Light of Berkley Springs, WV.

She is survived by step daughters Sherri Stewart, and Jennifer (Michael) Morris, seven grandchildren - Kelly Miller, Derek Ash, MacKenzie Morris, Madison Morris, Dalton Baker, Monet Morris and Meaghan Morris and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by both parents, sister Sandra and husband Richard. Sharon worked for the Hawk Chemical Co from Ames, IA and transferred to Denver with the company. She later went to work for Columbine Realty as an executive assistant.

Sharon was very involved with Grace Church and served there with her many friends. She enjoyed tracking down family history and genealogy. She was good about staying in touch with family by way of email.

We will have a Celebration of Life for Sharon at Grace Church Aurora on March 11 at 2pm.
