Sharon Sue Hunter

Sharon Sue Hunter, age 83, died at Swedish Medical Center on April 7, 2024. 


She is survived by her husband, Bill Hunter, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Michael Maley, and Laura and Adrian Muja, three granddaughters Lydia, Juniper, and Ingrid. She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.


Sharon grew up in Mankato, KS and graduated from Mankato High School 1958 where she met Bill Hunter. They married April 5, 1959 and moved to California where Bill was in the Navy. After leaving the Navy they moved to Denver, CO. Sharon and Bill were married for 65 years.


Sharon played piano for church, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. She was a Girl Scout leader for 5 years. Sharon was a wonderful homemaker enjoying sewing, knitting, cooking, and reading. After her children were raised, she held several different jobs. She retired in 1996 from a home building company where she worked in accounting. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Viola Clegg, seven older brothers, and five older sisters.


Memorial Service will be held 2pm, June 7, 2024, at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home (303 986-9615) located at 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO. 80227.
