Sharon Ann Flis

Sharon Ann (Schleuger) Flis, born in Berthoud, Colorado on May 22, 1942, passed away at the age of 81 in Arvada, Colorado, on February 23, 2024.  

Sharon graduated from North High School in 1960 and in the same year, she married the love of her life, Francis “Frankie” Flis. Together, they raised their three children, John, Jody, and Kevin, along with their beloved and loyal German Shepherd, Bert. Sharon was very close to her mother, Lydia “Eha”, and would do almost everything together, such as trips to California, Las Vegas, fishing in Colorado, and running weekly errands. Sharon was also a tremendous help with raising her grandchildren Leslie and Brittany, as well as her great-grandchildren Jeremiah, “JJ”, and Faith. They were her absolute joy! 

Sharon loved to build relationships with all whom she came in contact with. Whether you were a family member, neighbor, or a friendly face out and about, she loved to start conversations and build friendships to last a lifetime. She was an avid Broncos, Avalanche, and Nuggets fan and loved to spend time with her son, Kevin, watching and attending WWE wrestling events. She loved her soap opera, Days of Our Lives, and was a supporter from the very first episode. She was an amazing and loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, niece, and friend. She will truly be missed. 

Sharon is survived by her sons, John and Kevin Flis, her daughter Jody Palomino, granddaughters Leslie (Leroy) Lucio, Brittany Palomino, and her great-grandchildren Jeremiah “JJ”, and Faith Lucio. She was preceded in death by both parents, Raymond Calabrese and Lydia “Eha” Tanko, her step-father Woodrow "Woody" Tanko, her husband, Francis “Frankie” Flis, and son-in-law, Herman Palomino.
