Scott Wade Wickstrom

Scott Wade Wickstrom February 9, 1971 – August 18, 2026 Scott Wade Wickstrom, 55, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2026 in Denver, Colorado. 

Born in Mason City, Iowa, Scott grew up in Cortez, Colorado, where he spent his childhood surrounded by family, friends, and the outdoors. He worked with his brother at their family’s paint store while in high school and as a young adult. 

He earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa and later earned his Master in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder. 

Exceptionally intelligent and naturally gifted at understanding how things worked and solving problems, Scott built a long and successful career in engineering, technology, telecommunications, and business leadership. Over the course of his career, Scott held numerous leadership positions and worked on many complex projects. He had a natural talent for leadership, but perhaps more importantly, he genuinely cared about the people he led. He pushed the people around him to be better, encouraged them to reach their potential, and took pride in watching them succeed. 

Those who knew Scott, however, are unlikely to remember him for his résumé. They will remember the fun they had with him. 

He was brilliant, funny, stubborn, generous, and adventurous—someone who created unforgettable memories. Stories shared since his passing have centered on laughter, good times, adventures, antics, and the joy he brought to others. Fiercely loyal, Scott devoted himself to his family and pushed those he loved to be their best. He loved so deeply and those who were lucky enough to receive his love knew and felt it. 

Scott’s greatest love was his wife, Molly. Though they grew up in the same town, they met in 2000 at her birthday party and married on December 15, 2001. Their relationship was one of the deepest sources of meaning in his life. He was also an extraordinary and amazing father to Ryley and Calvan—supportive, protective, encouraging, and endlessly proud. He supported them in countless ways, always wanting to see them succeed while making sure they knew they never had to face anything alone. He was involved in every aspect of their lives and so proud of the people they were becoming. 

Scott found happiness outdoors, with family and friends. He spent many summers at Lake Powell in Utah, both as a child and later as an adult. He loved camping, traveling, riding ATVs, fishing, and being on the water. His greatest joys were watching his children play sports. Scott had a serious love for candy and sweets, watching movies, and was an excellent cook. He was an avid poker player and brought a good‑humored competitiveness to sports betting. 

Scott leaves behind a lifetime of memories that are much bigger than any list of accomplishments. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorraine Wickstrom. He is survived by his beloved wife, Molly; his children, Ryley and Calvan; his brother, Craig, and Craig's wife, Angela; and his nephews, River and Marshal. He also leaves behind extended family, lifelong friends, coworkers, and countless people whose lives he touched. 

Scott was deeply loved and will be remembered for his laughter, stories, love of the outdoors, and ability to turn anything into an adventure. 

A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at The Westin Hotel in Westminster, Colorado. Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Scott, share stories, laugh, remember, and honor the life he lived and the people he loved.
