In Loving Memory of Scott Ziegler

Scott Alan (Beck) Ziegler of Denver, Colorado, passed away on September 2, 2026, leaving behind family and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Family was woven throughout Scott’s life. Some of his family’s most treasured memories reach back to his childhood and the special bond he shared with his brother, Randy, and their grandparents, Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Punky.

Scott and Randy adored their grandparents and spent many happy days adventuring with Grandma Ruth. They enjoyed time at the farm, helping her in the yard and with chores, celebrating holidays together, and traveling into the beautiful Colorado mountains. What may have seemed like ordinary moments at the time became cherished stories and memories that their family would treasure for a lifetime.

As Scott grew older, he developed a deep love for working with his hands. He took pride in his work as a carpenter and enjoyed building and creating things. That same hands-on spirit carried into one of his greatest passions: dirt bikes. Scott loved working on dirt bikes just as much as he loved the excitement of dirt bike racing. Whether he was building something, fixing something, or working on a bike, he was happiest when he could put his hands and skills to work.

Scott’s life also took him far from home and brought him a love story that began thousands of miles away.

In December 2016, Scott connected with Odette online while she was living in South Africa. What began with conversations and Skype calls quickly grew into something much more. Scott traveled to South Africa in September 2017 so they could finally meet in person, and they were married on October 14, 2017.

They spent six months together in South Africa before Scott had to return to the United States. Their relationship endured difficult goodbyes, long distances, reunions, and some of the most challenging seasons of Scott’s life.

During the COVID pandemic, after Scott lost his leg, Odette traveled to the United States to help care for him. Even through those difficult years, they continued to make memories together. They went camping and traveled, and Scott had the opportunity to show her different places throughout the United States, sharing pieces of his home and his life with her.

Their journey together was not always easy, but the love they shared remained meaningful throughout Scott’s life. In Odette’s words, Scott was her “soulmate forever.”

Scott will be remembered not only for the milestones of his life, but also for the many moments in between: childhood adventures with Randy, days at the farm, holidays surrounded by family, trips through the Colorado mountains, the things he built with his own two hands, hours spent working on dirt bikes, the thrill of racing, camping adventures, travels, laughter, love, and the relationships that shaped his life.

Scott is survived by his mother, Myrtle Dorroh; his stepfather, Robert Dorroh; his niece, Apiphany Caro; his nephew, CJ Caro; and the many extended family members and friends who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nils Toralf Beck; his brother, Randy Ziegler; and other beloved family members who were important parts of his life.

Scott’s story crossed years, miles, countries, celebrations, hardships, and many different chapters. Those who loved him will remember each chapter differently, but together, those memories tell the story of a man whose life became intertwined with so many others.

From a little boy making memories at the farm with Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Punky, to a carpenter who loved creating things with his own hands, to dirt bikes and racing, adventures in the Colorado mountains, and a love that began halfway around the world, Scott leaves behind a lifetime of stories.

Those stories will continue to be told.

And through them, Scott will continue to be remembered.
