Santiago Reyes Talamantes

Santiago Reyes Talamantes, 96, of Aurora, Colorado passed away at his home on June 1, 2025. He was born on January 14, 1929 to Juan and Maria Talamantes in Big Wells, Texas. He married Barbara Payne on June 21, 1952.

Santiago served his country and those around him throughout his lifetime. Enlisting in the Air Force in 1947, he served throughout this country along with tours of duty in Okinawa. Chile, and Vietnam. He retired from active duty in August 1973 as a chief master sergeant after 26 years of service. Returning to government service a year later, he rose to become the Director of Personnel Records and Services at ARPC, retiring in January 1997.

Santiago is survived by six children, Linda Karlin, Wabash, Indiana, Daniel (Jamie) Talamantes, Highlands Ranch, Laura Talamantes, Aurora, Michael (Palma) Talamantes, Highlands Ranch, Maria Talamantes, Englewood, and Janice (Roger) Miller, Parker, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, a large extended family and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sons, Mark and Joel Talamantes.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 24th at 10:15 am at Horan & McConaty Chapel, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014 followed by a luncheon for friends and family. Friends may call at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
