Sandra Tighe passed away in her home on September 30, 2026 at the age of 89.  Born in Abilene, TX to John and Leona Hockersmith, she was a graduate of Abilene High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from TCU. She moved first to Detroit, MI to work for Park Davis pharmaceutical company then on to Denver, CO where she met the love of her life Hugh Tighe JR.

Married February 22,1969 she and Hugh had a long and full life of adventures and fun.  Later in life Sandy once again worked for multiple churches as both the music director and organist; her life time passion was music and Sandy showed that through doing sing-a-longs in nursing homes as well

Sandy was proceeded in death by her parents and husband Hugh. Sandy is survived by her two sons Hugh Tighe III and his wife Melinda of Castle Rock, CO and Steven Tighe and his wife Jessica, as well as three grandchildren; Hugh Tighe IV, John Tighe, and Auggie.

Funeral services will be held in Abilene, TX where the rest of the extended family are buried
