Sandra Charlene Simon, lovingly known as Sandy, passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 11, 1940, she was the daughter of Charles and Laura Browning. Sandy grew up with her siblings, Kay, Connie, Charlie, and Don.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Laura Browning; her siblings, Kay and Charlie; and her former husband, Bill Simon.
She is survived by her sister, Connie; her brother, Donald; her four children, Lisa, Stephanie, Angela, and Christopher; her three grandchildren, Nicole, Jacob, and Isaac; and her nine great-grandchildren: Haddie, Caroline, James, Henry, Josephine, John, Catherine, Aaron, and Ryder.
Sandy was married to Bill Simon in 1960. Although they later divorced in 1990, they remained connected through their family and continued to keep in touch. Bill passed away in 2018.
In 1981, Sandy moved to Broomfield, Colorado, where she made her home and remained a resident for the rest of her life.
Sandy was a woman with many talents and interests. She loved playing tennis and cards, being outdoors, hiking, traveling, gardening, and, most of all, having fun. She had a love for animals and cherished the pets who shared her life. Her last pet, Jacques, was a particularly special companion and a very good friend to her.
Sandy was an exceptionally talented seamstress. She used her creativity to make clothes for her children, doll clothes, costumes for special events and Halloween, and even Stephanie’s baton costumes. Her sewing was one of the many ways she expressed her love for her family.
Sandy also had a successful career as a Mary Kay director for several years. Her unit, known as the Mountain Movers, reflected her enthusiasm, determination, and ability to inspire others.
Sandy will be remembered for her creativity, adventurous spirit, love of animals, enjoyment of the outdoors, and her ability to have fun and make memories. Above all, she will be deeply missed by her children, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Colorado. Location and time TBD.
