Sandra “Sandee” Reynebeau passed away on January 9, 2021 in Golden, CO, at the age of 74. She was born October 28, 1946, in Menominee, Michigan to the late Roy G. and Gladys (Peterson) Uecke.
Sandee graduated with the Menominee High School Class of 1964 and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church at that time. As a high school student she taught Leathercraft at the old D.A.R. Boys Club. She was a majorette and a proud member of the high school marching band. She was always a Green Bay Packer fan and went to Super Bowl #1 with the Packers.
In 1969 Sandee met her future husband, Rocky, while skiing at Bessemer, MI. They were engaged on that same ski slope 10 months later and married in March of 1970. After Rocky’s college graduation, they moved to Colorado where their two children, Jason and Jennifer, were born.
The Reynebeaus owned a second home on Legend Lake in Keshena, WI where they spent their summers. Sandee had beautiful perennial gardens that she loved taking care of. She loved sewing, reading, traveling, being with her family and eating popcorn at the movies. Her true passion was quilting and she belonged to quilt groups in Shawano and Keshena, WI plus other groups in Colorado. She was happy to be a part of the Quilts of Valor project and loved making quilts each year for baptisms for her Colorado church.
In her own words: “My life was filled with fun! Before Rocky, I went to a World’s Fair, the Packers “Ice Bowl” and Super Bowl #1. After Rocky, there were ocean and river cruises and lots of Europe and U.S. car adventures. We spent 16 Thanksgivings in Mazatlan and traveled to 25 countries, 42 states and 10 Caribbean islands. I was a certified scuba diver, hiked in Moab and Switzerland, biked in Colorado, had fun on the train, cruised the Panama Canal, froze on the Great Wall of China and cried in Auschwitz.”
Sandee is survived by her husband, Rocky, of 50 years, her children, Jason (Elizabeth) Reynebeau and Jennifer (Jeremy) Kendall, and her grandchildren: Reagan Reynebeau, Carter Reynebeau and Trevor Kendall, all of Colorado. She is further survived by her brother, R. James “Jim” Uecke of Marinette, WI. Another brother, Jerry Allen Uecke, preceded her in death.
