Sandra Jean Glaviano died peacefully on August 24th, 2026. ‘Sandy’ was born in Ponca City, OK on September 1, 1943 to Franklin and Charlotte (née Ramey) Engelking. Married to Leonard Franklin Glaviano for 48 years, she leaves behind two sons, Tony Glaviano and Jeff Fulton. On her dad’s side, she had 8 Uncles/Aunts and many cousins. On her mom’s side, her Grandmother was a member of the Kaw (Kanza) tribe. Sandy spent much of her youth on her grandmother’s farm and even went to the occasional Powwow. Having studied mathematics at Oklahoma State University, Sandy had quick mind and loved problem solving. She was a kind and loving mother who believed in enabling her boys to find their own path to happiness. Sandy was successful at many things - a middle school math teacher, a retail store manager, and a small business owner with her husband, Len.
She loved reading, beating people at card games, playing tennis, going to the movies (always with a jumbo sized popcorn and a soda filled to the brim with ice) and visiting her grandchildren - Sydney & Samantha. One thing she particularly loved was 50’s music - Elvis, The Everly Brothers, and Patsy Cline and a later favorite, Dolly Parton. Later in life, she valued and pursued volunteer work and visited Haiti on two occasions bringing shoes and other necessities to those in need. To her friends and family she was a warm and fun-loving presence. We will all miss her sense of humor and especially, her laugh.
