She married John J. Nolan, a traveling salesman, on May 28, 1955, in Washington D.C. while raising a family of one son and five daughters. She also worked as a secretary. Her first secretarial job was working for the director of personnel at the central intelligence agency (CIA). Following a time of living in D.C. the family made their home in Goshen, Indiana in Royal Oak, Michigan, then in Portage, Michigan for twenty years. After their retirement Sally and her husband moved to Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and eventually to Denver Colorado.
The graduation from college of all six of her children is a matter of joy and price.
Her husband died after 58 years of marriage and three months prior to his death their daughter Cathy passed away at the age of 57. Another daughter Kelly who had a heart defect died at the age of 40.
Sally’s son Jack works for the City of Denver. Her daughters have occupations of CPA, insurance adjuster and of course homemakers. Two of her three grandchildren are in college, and a 11 year old granddaughter lives with her parents in the sate of Washington.
Sally has traveled to Europe several times including Ireland of course! She has also traveled extensively in the United States.
She moved to Clermont Park in May 2015 from her home in southeast Denver.
Although Sally’s life has included times of great sorrow at the Clermont Park, she spreads sunshine. The happy yellow and black sunflower bee decorating her walker is a reflection of the bright smiling face!
