Devoted and loving wife and mother, Sabra Spradling, 77, of Castle Rock, Colorado, passed away April 4, 2018, after a long illness. She was born October 17, 1940, in Portageville, Missouri, to Myrtle Joye Lee (née Reeder) and Thomas Stewart Lee.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry Spradling, whom she met in grade school when both were appearing in a production of Sleeping Beauty. The two were inseparable thereafter and married in 1958. She is also survived by her children, Philip Spradling, of Atlanta, Georgia; Mark Spradling, of Frankfurt, Germany; and Mary-Anne Gerlach, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Alexander Lee; and sister, Barbara Moss.
Mrs. Spradling, a dedicated homemaker, had a beautiful singing voice and for many years served in the choir of Blessed Sacrament Church in Midland, Michigan; she was a featured soloist on several occasions. Intensely interested in politics, she performed volunteer work for the Democratic Party at intervals throughout her life. After living in a variety of locations, including Sao Paulo, Brazil, she and her husband finally settled in Colorado in 1998 to be near their grandchildren, Jessica Hilbun Schwartz, of Lafayette, Colorado; Lyndsey Hilbun, of Denver, Colorado; and Grant Gerlach, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Sabra was a devoted pet owner, and lavished an abundance of affection on a series of fortunate poodles.
A memorial service will be help Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Eleven OâClock in the Morning, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado, 80122.
