Ruth Boden

November 27, 1924 — February 20, 2021

Ruth Eileen Boden, age 96, passed away at Brookdale Meridian Lakewood on February 20, 2021. She had fallen and never recovered from her fall.

She was adamant that she be called Eileen, never Ruth. Eileen was born on November 27, 1924 in Akron, Colorado. She graduated from High Prairie High School in Akron, Colorado.  After graduation she attended business school in Denver and upon completion of her business school classes, she began work at the Medical Depot in Denver. This is where she met her future husband, William (Bill). They were married August 10, 1946 and were married for 66 years when Bill passed away in June 2013.

Eileen enjoyed traveling, dancing, and playing cards. She loved watching the Rockies, and she and Bill would attend games both here and at Spring Training. Bill and Eileen would go dancing at the Trocadero at Elitch Gardens. They hosted many card parties where they enjoyed playing Pinochle, many times they would have three or four tables of players, and of course, there was always food and drink. After Bill retired from the Post Office, they traveled to Europe, and Australia, they took cruises through the Panama Canal and to Alaska, and they went on lots of road trips. Sometimes they would just get in the car with no destination in mind and start driving. After Bill passed away, Eileen moved into the Brookdale Meridian Arvada where she had her own apartment. There she continued her lifelong love of playing cards, Pinochle, Hand and Foot and Poker.

Eileen had four sisters; Helen (Fritz) Hefty, Lucille (Frank) Barrett, Vera (Jack) Malone, and Marvel (Delbert) Guertner; and one brother, Chester (Elna) Kinnison.  She is survived by her sister Marvel.

Eileen and Bill have four children; Michael (Jane) Boden, Marlene (Charles) DiManna, Lewis (Maureen) Boden and Charlene Boden. Charlene passed away January 7, 2019. They have ten grandchildren; Brian (Leanne) Boden, Mary DiManna, Gerard (Angela) DiManna, Sarah (Jacob) Scruby, Matthew (Ashley) DiManna, and Bree Boden. They also have eight great-grandchildren; Julianna Brienza, Stella DiManna, Eliana DiManna, Dominic DiManna, Olivia Scruby, Vincent Scruby, Ayden Boden and Zane Boden.
