Ruby Hanna

Ruby Hanna, 88, of Littleton, CO passed away Monday August 22nd of pancreatic cancer.  Ruby was born on their family ranch South of Faith, SD February 27, 1934; she was the 13th of 14 children born to John and Isabelle Jordan.  Ruby has two sons David K Hanna and Stephen Hanna (Teresa) and one daughter Jean Ward (Dan).  She has 4 beloved grandchildren Ethan Ward (Kara), Jordan Ward, Jason Hanna and Mark Hanna and one great-grandchild Dean Ward.  She is preceded by her loving husband Dave Hanna, 8 brothers and 4 sisters.  Ruby dearly loved her family and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Ruby and Dave were married 61 years prior to Dave’s death in 2017.  They enjoyed traveling, being involved in the community, donating their time to the church and passionate with their faith in God.  They were amazing role models and mentors to many friends and family.

Ruby trained to become a RN at St McNamara’s School of Nursing in Rapid City, SD in 1955.  She left nursing to raise her children and returned to nursing in 1970, retiring in 1997.

Ruby loved to tend her gardens, attending bible study and other small community groups.  She was thankful for the kind and helpful neighbors and nieces who helped in so many ways after Dave’s death.  Ruby was never alone, her infectious spirit, kindness and peaceful ways kept visitors knocking at her door.  She continually prayed for all her family and would add anyone in need to her prayers.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 pm followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm, both at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd; Lakewood, CO 80227.
