Roy Delmar Linhardt of Lakewood Colorado passed away on October 12, 2021 eleven days before his 92nd birthday. Roy was born October 23, 1929 to Louis and Lorene Linhardt in Jefferson City, Missouri. He had one older sister Evelyn and one younger sister Dorothy. Roy enlisted in the Navy in September 1950 and left in June of 1954. He served in the Korean War as an airplane mechanic on two aircraft carriers. After leaving the Navy, he went to the University of Washington where he studied engineering, graduating in 1958. After graduating college, he returned to California, Missouri where he met his future bride, Betty Jean Zumwalt. Roy and Betty were married in December 1963.
Roy and Betty moved to Denver where he worked as a civil engineer for a private engineering firm and then moved to work for the federal government. His work for the government enabled him and Betty to travel to many different places, including spending time in Japan.
Roy and his wife Betty welcomed their twin sons, Clifford and Douglas, to the family on April 30th 1972. When not working Roy enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking. He retired from his government job in 1990. He was proceeded in death by both his parents, his wife Betty and his sister Evelyn. His survivors include his sister Dorothy, his children Clifford (wife Nicole) and Douglas (wife Karen) and grandchildren Rachel, Leah, Ariana, Cassandra, Jacob and Alexander.
