Rosemary Costello

January 24, 1926 — October 21, 2024

Denver, CO

January 24, 1926 – October 21, 2024

Rosemary Costello, 98, of Denver, CO passed away on October 21, 2024. She was born in St Louis, MO, the daughter of Frank and Clara (Mudd) Scott. After graduating from Denver East High School in 1943, she attended Loretto Heights College and University of Denver. Rosemary also worked in Denver at Russell Stover Candies and was asked to move to Portland, OR to help open their new store in the Pacific Northwest…quite an adventure for a young woman of that era and gave her a lifetime of memories.

When she moved back to Denver and continued working for Russell Stover, fate would enter her life when a handsome young customer visited her store. It was there she met, and in 1948 married Bob Costello, her beloved husband. During their early years of marriage, the two traveled together across the western states as Bob held a sales position with a St Louis clothing company.

Throughout their marriage, and while raising eight “wonderful” children, Rosemary continued to pursue her educational and travel interests. She proudly graduated from University of Colorado – Denver with a degree in Art and made her first (of many) international trips. Her love of travel, art and continuous learning was well known among her numerous friends and family. She shared these passions with each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-great-grandchild. In fact, her greatest joy in life was seeing her family grow and find success in all their various individual endeavors. She was always there to give support and love to members of multiple generations in the family.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Bob Costello and her sister Kathleen Street. She leaves behind her eight children, Sharon (Joe Baird), Rob (Mary), Susan, Patty, Julie (Mac) Perry, Michael (JoNell), Colleen and Daniel (Louise); fourteen grandchildren, Charlene, Lorraine, Barrett, Georgia, Sarah, Liz, Laura, Michael, John, Scott, Daniel, David, Sarah, Joey; twenty-three great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild..
