Rosemary Ellen Abraham, 73, passed away at the Post Acute Medical Hospital in Denver on October 1, 2020. After a year-long battle with cancer and the complications that followed, she went home to be with Jesus.
Rosemary was born in Black River Falls, Wisconsin and grew up in Taylor, Wisconsin. After getting married to Warren Abraham on October 28, 1967, Rosemary lived in many different locations including Minnesota, Hawaii, Michigan, Nebraska, Alabama, and Virginia. After her husband, Warren retired from the Air Force in 1986, Rosemary and her family spent the rest of her life in Aurora, Colorado. Following Warren’s retirement, Rosemary went back to work. For a time she was the assistant manager at the Lowry Air Force Base Thrift store and a manager at the Canary and the Elephant in Buckingham Square Mall. Rosemary later spent several years with Information Handling Services and ended her working years with Centura Health, from which she retired in 2015. Rosemary was a member at Peace with Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO since 1986.
Rosemary Abraham was known as a kind, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She loved everyone she met and they knew it. She loved to cook for anyone and everyone. Her friends and family brought her the greatest joy. Rosemary loved being a grandmother and it seemed she was born for the job. She loved spending time loving and spoiling her grandchildren, eating out with friends, and looking at beautiful scenery. She cared deeply about everyone and did whatever she could to help anyone in need. She was caring, thoughtful, generous, and loving and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Warren Abraham, and her sons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Katie) and Adam (Melissa). Rosemary leaves behind nine grandchildren: Cailyn, Daniel, Ailee, Jaedyn, Addison, Ella, Avery, Matthew, and Caleb. She also leaves behind four brothers and sisters-in-law: Duane (Evelyn), Mike (Diane), Eldon (Karen), and Allan (Caroline). Rosemary is also survived by many cousins, “sisters from a different mother” Susie, Marie, Cynthia, and Lynn as well as many cousins and close friends. Rosemary Abraham was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Bergeman, and her father Sidney Simonson.
A viewing will be held from 2-4 pm on October 10, 2020 at Horan & McConaty at 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (at Parker Road) Aurora, Colorado 80014. Friends and family are welcome to attend. A funeral service will be held on October 17 at 2:00 and Peace with Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora with limited seating. Rosemary will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery with a family ceremony on October 30, 2020.
