Ronnie Louis Spotts was a simple man in the very best sense of the words. Often seen in his signature white T-shirt and blue jeans, with a kind smile that could brighten anyone’s day, Ronnie had a way of making people feel comfortable and welcome. He was kind, friendly, and genuine, greeting everyone he knew with a warm smile and a heart that never needed to make a fuss to leave a lasting impression.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 25th 1945, Ronnie proudly served his country for two years in the United States Army. After his military service, Ronnie eventually settled in Denver, Colorado, where he made his home and built a life surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. It was there that his love for the outdoors truly flourished. He loved camping, fishing, and spending time in the mountains, finding joy and peace in the places he loved most.
Ronnie built a career doing what he loved. An outstanding auto body repairman with a passion for all things cars, he had a talent for working with his hands and a genuine appreciation for automobiles. He eventually spent 25 years driving for the RTD in Denver, Colorado, bringing dedication and commitment to his work throughout his career.
Outside of work, Ronnie was happiest enjoying the outdoors. He loved camping, fishing, and exploring the mountains of Colorado. He also loved to cook, and those who knew him will surely remember that he could make a mean spaghetti dinner! Whether he was enjoying a camping trip, casting a fishing line, sharing a home-cooked meal, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Ronnie understood that some of life’s greatest joys are found in the simplest moments.
Above all, Ronnie loved his family. His two sons, Ben and Neil, and his grandchildren, Julia, Carly, Aurora, and Landen, held a special place in his heart. He shared his life with his lifelong partner, Gail, whose companionship was an important part of his journey. His love for his family was woven into the everyday moments, the shared meals, the smiles, and the memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, and his parents, Elbert and Veatrice Spotts.
He is survived by his lifelong partner, Gail; his sons, Ben (Megan) and Neil (Tyra), daughter Shulawn, his beloved grandchildren, Julia, Carly, Aurora, and Landen; his brother, Ray (Jan); his sister, Sherri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronnie’s life was a reminder that you don’t have to be a complicated man to make a lasting impact. Sometimes, the greatest legacy is found in a kind heart, a welcoming smile, a good meal shared with family, and the love you leave behind.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, in the stories they share, and in the simple, beautiful moments that will forever remind them of Ronnie.
Rest easy, Ronnie. You will always be remembered with love.
