Ronald Acosta, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 83. Born Los Angeles, California on December 19, 1942 as 1 of 7 children, Ronald lived a life that touched countless hearts and left an enduring mark on all who had the honor of knowing him.

Known for his immeasurable generosity and kindness, Ronald saw the world through a compassionate lens. To his family, he was a steadfast pillar—ever loyal as a parent and a friend. Married to his devoted wife of over 60 years, Judy, Ronald built a loving family that became the center and joy of his life. His children, Lisa, Denise, Ronnie, Tracy, and Mason—along with his sons- and daughters-in-law Priscilla, Keith, and Taunia; siblings, Vivian, Connie, Richard and Carmen; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, remain a testament to the legacy of love and care he so freely gave.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Vivian; and two brothers, Fred and David.

Ronald’s career was a source of great pride. For an astonishing sixty years, he worked as a Master Hardwood Finisher. His dedication to his craft was unmatched; it was only at the age of 81 that he briefly laid his tools aside, having spent a lifetime perfecting his workmanship and mentoring others along the way. His work ethic inspired those beside him and his commitment shaped not only exquisite floors but also the lives of those fortunate enough to learn from him. Ronald loved music, especially 50s and 60s Rock & Roll.

Active and engaged, Ronald delighted in human connection. Mornings often found him at his favorite breakfast spot, sharing laughter and stories, his sharp sense of humor always close at hand. Sundays were set aside for attending mass—a weekly ritual that reflected his rekindled faith and his deep connection with God. Perhaps one of Ronald’s proudest journeys was embracing sobriety; with over 21 years sober, he faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, becoming a beacon of hope and strength for others walking similar paths.

Ronald’s compassion extended beyond his family and friends. His heart was open to everyone—especially to those in need. He offered his time as a volunteer at the Immaculate Heart of Mary food bank and could often be found reaching into his pocket to help someone struggling on the street. As he would often say, “But for the grace of God, that could have been me.” This sensitivity defined him and ensured that no one felt invisible in his presence.

The joy of Ronald’s life was also shaped by his love for dogs. Over the years, he cherished the companionship of Teddy, Chewey, Ebony, Charlie, CoCo, and Josie. The stories of their antics brought warmth to every gathering, and the comfort they brought him was strong and unconditional.

Those who knew Ronald will remember his laughter, his fierce loyalty, and the way he always seemed to know how to bring light to the darkest of situations. His absence leaves a void impossible to fill, but his spirit endures in every act of kindness he taught by example.

Ronald Acosta will be dearly missed by Judy, his children, their spouses, and all of his extended family and friends. The impact he made in countless lives—marked by humor, kindness, and quiet acts of goodness—remains his enduring legacy.
