Rocco Lawrence Russo, 87 years young, was born on March 25, 1936, in Peapack, New Jersey, and passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2023. He was the son of the late Rocco A. Russo and Ida M. (Mondelli) Russo.  He was the loving husband of Beatrice A. (Chiaramonte) Russo, to whom he was married for sixty-two years. Together they raised three children, Monica, Lori, and Charles.

In 1957 he graduated from Seton Hall with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was also enrolled in ROTC during college.  After graduation he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps and served two years active duty in Luxembourg.  When his job with Johns Manville transferred the family to Colorado in 1971, he received his Master of Accounting from Denver University.  After retiring from Johns Manville, he worked at Coors Brewing Company and opened an Italian deli and restaurant (Rocco’s).  He was a member of The Sons of Italy and Manville Retirees.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching the Broncos, Seton Hall Pirates Basketball, New York Yankees, and Colorado Rockies.  He enjoyed coaching woman’s fastpitch softball and Columbine sports little league baseball. He had a passion for crossword puzzles.  He also loved being 100% Italian and embracing Italian culture, listening to Italian music and of course, cooking and eating Italian food.

Rocco is survived by his wife Beatrice, his daughter Monica (Doug) Fountain, son Charles (Hope) Russo, son-in-law Tim Romig, grandchildren Megan (Simon) Haile, Stephanie (Andres) Soto, Brittney Russo, Katelyn Russo, Julianna Russo, and Tatiana Romig, brother Charles (Jane) Russo, sisters-in-law Pat Russo and Lydia Chiaramonte, and 12 nieces and nephews: Sharon (Brian) Thomas, Patty (Al) Ruth, Robin (Dan) Cooney, Paula (Bill) Reidler, Tony (Carrie) Russo, Jennifer (Adam) McInerney, Michael (Cara) Russo, Rosann (Charlie) Cederberg, Tommy (Barbara) Sinacori, Joanne Dickinson, Chris (Meghan) Chiaramonte, and Anthony Chiaramonte.
