Robert "Bob" Challacombe

Bob was born on a farm in Scranton, Kansas. The son of Richard Challacombe and Mae Martin. He was the 5th child of what would eventually be 6 children. He enjoyed baseball and track in high school, served in the Navy in WWII, and retired from the Colorado Dept. of Revenue.
Survived by children Ken (Ruth), Carol (Lynn), Duane (Jeanne); grandson David (Laura); great-grandson Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife Ida of nearly 72 years of marriage; mother and father; and all of his siblings. He is remembered for his strong Christian faith, and his enjoyment of daily banter with people around him.  He enjoyed traveling to all 50 US states, Canada, Mexico, and a cruise through the Panama Canal.
Private interment, Fort Logan National Cemetery. A memorial service for Bob will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., 11:00 am.
