Roberta Maxine Davis, of Golden, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 after a brief illness. She lived a long life of 90 years and was surrounded by loved ones as she passed.
Roberta was born on October 1,1934, the daughter of Harvey and Sarah Saltzman. She was raised in Geneva, Nebraska along with 8 brothers and 2 sisters. She attended Geneva High School.
She married Art Davis on September 9, 1960 in Englewood, Colorado. They were married for 64 years, setting a great example of what love looks like for those around them. Roberta had 5 children, Randy (Karen) Davis, Rick (Kathy) Davis, Bob Davis, Roy (Darla) Davis, and Christy (Kurt) Marrs. They have 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to raising their family, Art and Roberta built several successful businesses together. First, they sold western wear at various markets and county fairs. At the same time, they started Art’s Saddle Repair, which they ran out of their home in Lakewood. Eventually, they outgrew their basement and created Davis Tent and Awning, joined by sons Rick and Roy, and grandson Christopher.
For many years, Art and Roberta enjoyed being members of various car clubs where they would tour with friends and show off their cars. Roberta’s favorite was a 1934 Chevrolet with a rumble seat, nicknamed “Old Crow”. She was also a member of the Golden Gate Grange, Golden Gate Columbine Club, and Faith Lutheran Church in Golden.
Her hobbies included shopping and baking. Her favorite was making pies, and she baked a pie for every occasion. She also enjoyed traveling. In addition to her trips around the lower 48, she traveled to Alaska and Hawaii. She was an international traveler as well with trips to Australia, England, France and Mexico.
Preceding Roberta in death are her parents, 8 of her siblings, daughter-in-law Kathy Davis, and son-in-law Kurt Marrs. Roberta is survived by her brother Gerald Saltzman of Denver and a multitude of nieces and nephews scattered throughout the United States.
Services will be held on August 2nd, 1:00pm, at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227
To honor Roberta, guests are encouraged to wear a touch of pink, her favorite color, to the service.
