Robert Westley Parsons

Robert (Bob) Parsons passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026. He was 91 years old. He was born in Westley, California on June 17,1935 to Willis and Freda Parsons. He was the youngest of three boys. Shortly after he was born his parents returned the family to Raydon, Oklahoma where he attended school until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in Korea, Vietnam and Japan.

When he returned to the United States after six years in the Navy, he settled in Pampa, Texas with his first wife, Kinuko. They welcomed their son, Wesley Dale Parsons, born in Amarillo, Texas. While working various jobs in Texas he attended community college studying accounting and bookkeeping. The family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he continued his studies and he began working for Cities Service Petroleum. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and the family was subsequently transferred to Cities Service in Jakarta, Indonesia. After 3 years in Jakarta, Bob was transferred to Singapore where his family resided while he worked in Myanmar for 2 years. After spending 5 years based in Manila, The Philippines, the family returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He continued to work for Cities Service and Occidental Petroleum Corporation which acquired Cities Service. He spent the remainder of his working life in Bakersfield, California and Tulsa, Oklahoma until he retired in 1990.

Bob and Kinuko were divorced and he married Marcella Hardy Jarema in 1991 in Houston, Texas. He and Marcella lived in Houston until July, 2006 when they moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado when Marcella was transferred.

Bob was an avid golfer and bowler and generally excelled at whatever sport he took up. He enjoyed reading, gardening, video games and he could fix anything.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Willis and Freda, and his two brothers, Sonny and Jim. He is survived by his wife, Marcella, his son, Wesley and two grandchildren, Austin and Aidan as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was a wonderful husband and father and is deeply missed by his family and friends.
