Bob was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from Enid High School and the University of Oklahoma before serving in the Navy on the USS Mullaney.
Bob spent most of his life living in Boulder and Westminster, Colorado, although started his long career with IBM in New York City and lived his last few years in Goodyear, AZ. Bob was married to Betty (Crandall) Muir for 57 years and raised three daughters; Carol Throm, Nancy Rose and Susan Muir.
Bob enjoyed road trips and traveling, reading and following track and field, football and baseball. Going out for lunch with family was one of his favorite things to do. Bob had an amazing dry wit, always had a twinkle in his eye and was showered in cookies, care and love by his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Muir; parents, J Lawrence and Hazel Muir and older sister Vivian Varian.
He is survived by daughters Carol Throm and her husband Dean of West Des Moines, Iowa, Nancy Rose and her husband Tim of Goodyear, AZ and Susan Muir and her husband Todd Cornett of Salem, Oregon; sister Carolyn Gasaway, brother Gordon Muir and wife Cindy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samuel Muir Throm, of Washington, District of Columbia and Katherine Paige Throm, of New York, New York.
A private family graveside service will be at Fort Logan Cemetery.
