Robert William Mayerchak

Robert William Mayerchak, age 90, passed peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Littleton Adventist Hospital with family by his side. He was born May 31, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, PA to George and Helen Mayerchak and raised in Lynch, Kentucky alongside his brothers, Joe, John, and George, and sisters, Betty and Helen.

Upon graduating high school, Robert enlisted in the Marines, where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Shortly after completing his service in 1954, he traveled across the country with his brother to study at the University of Las Vegas, New Mexico. While at the university, Robert was active in athletics, excelling in both football and basketball.

In 1958, he married Lois Hall and together they raised their daughter Sharon.

Robert had a professional career in banking, but he was especially known as a dedicated volunteer. He worked with a variety of organizations, notably in the library of the Centennial Academy of Fine Arts, Holy Name Catholic Church, and food banks. Robert was also an avid gardener and tennis player, and always enjoyed spending time with his dog Scout.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter Sharon; siblings Joe, John, and Betty; three granddaughters, by whom he will always be remembered as strong, dependable, and supportive. 

Funeral Mass Wednesday, August 16, 2023, 10:00 am, Holy Name Catholic Church, 3290 West Milan Ave., Englewood, CO 80110.
Interment 11:30 am, Fort Logan National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Robert’s name to Holy Name Catholic Church or the Humane Society of South Platte Valley.
