Robert W. Hughes

Robert Wesley Hughes entered eternal life on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023.

He was born on October 7th, 1940 in Farmville, VA to the late John Wesley and Dora Lee Hughes. He was the oldest of 8 brothers & sisters.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966 as a Fuel Specialist. He was employed at John Manville as a Lab Technician and was with JM until his retirement in 2002. He loved reading, listening to all types of music, watching old western movies, puzzles, working on cars, especially Volkswagen Beetles, traveling on his motorcycle and sports.

Robert was preceded in death by a grandson, Myles Alexander Hughes, his parents, John W. & Dora L. Hughes, three sisters: Beulah Ayers, Emma Jane Hughes and Virginia White, and a brother, John Calvin Hughes.

Robert is survived by his wife, Gloria Hughes, daughter Jacqueline Hughes, son Michael(Melissa) Hughes, two grandchildren: Rowan McKenzie Hughes & Brandon Ryder Hughes of Highlands Ranch, CO, three sisters: Hattie Gattis & Ida Mae Hughes of Hebron, MD, and Cora(Matthew) Brown of Eden, MD & a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
