Robert Gourdin

Robert Gourdin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2026. He was born on March 24, 1936, in Spring Canyon, Utah to Thomas and Vesta Gourdin. Robert's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and cherished memories, woven together with the threads of family, service, and community.

In 1959, Robert married the love of his life, Jacquelyn, on a crisp November day. Their union was a beacon of love and warmth, raising five children together in an atmosphere filled with laughter and kindness. Though Jacquelyn and their son Michael have preceded Robert in passing, their legacy endures through their surviving children: Angela, Robert, Gerald, and Diana. Robert's life was further enriched by his eight grandchildren—Joe, Cristina, Brian, Alex, Stephanie, Whitney, Janessa, and Symone—and his 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Robert's service in the Air Force was a formative chapter in his life, where he not only served his country with honor but also met Jacquelyn in Cheyenne, setting the stage for a lifetime of shared adventures. His career as an Electrical Designer was marked by skill and dedication, occasionally taking him on travels in an engineering capacity. In March 2016, at the age of 80, Robert retired.

A man of quiet demeanor and a warm smile, Robert was known for his playful pranks and his love of collecting cars. The cars got to the point where Jacquelyn told him he had to get rid of 1 car to get another. His passion for gardening was evident in the care he put into cultivating vegetables, a hobby he pursued as long as he could. Robert's family was the cornerstone of his life. He delighted in family gatherings, whether visiting quietly or celebrating holidays with great zeal. His legacy is one of love, devotion, and a gentle spirit touched all who knew him.

A service to honor Robert's life will be held on September 1, 2026, at 12:30 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 100 E Malley Drive, Northglenn, CO 80233. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Destiny Hospice for their care and support during Robert's final chapter.
