Robert “Rob” Eric Eilert, age 43, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 16, 2025, after a life lived with intensity, curiosity, and deep love for those around him.
Born on December 27th, 1981, in Tampa, Florida, Rob was adopted by Robert and Debra Eilert and came home to live with them at their home in Colorado.
According to family lore, he had a very early outing to a Florida golf course at just four days old—a young start to what would become a lifelong love of the game.
He grew up in Aurora and Centennial, Colorado with his basenji dog, Sarah, the first of many dogs and cats, and from the beginning, was a force of nature. By four months old, he tipped the scales at twenty pounds and kept his parents on their toes constantly.
As a child, Rob was full of energy, always testing boundaries and finding joy in movement and adventure. He participated in karate, baseball, soccer, rock climbing, football, basketball and wrestling in the heavyweight class, and was proud to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout—a testament to his commitment and drive.
He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 2000 and briefly attended Western State College before realizing that a traditional academic setting wasn’t the right fit. Rob went on to graduate from a program in Applied Service Management from Wyotech in Laramie, Wyoming, setting the foundation for a career built around his passion for cars.
Rob opened his first mechanic shop, 6th Ave Auto, on Holly Street in Denver. Tragically, the shop was lost to a fire, but Rob’s resilience and entrepreneurial spirit didn’t waver.
He later co-founded Edelweiss Euro with his father, Robert, and business partner Jeff Daniels, operating locations in both Parker and Aurora, Colorado.
Rob married Melissa Johnston in September of 2022, at Chatfield Farms in Littleton, Colorado, and together they built a blended family with her children, Ryder and Parker, who he loved dearly.
A lifelong traveler, Rob had a goal of setting foot on every continent. He had just returned from a cruise through Amsterdam, London, Iceland, and beyond with a close friend, continuing his pursuit of adventure and world exploration. He was also a passionate music lover, avid skier, concertgoer, and a dedicated collector of Hard Rock Café pins.
Whether on the golf course, at a concert, or around a bonfire with a drink in hand, a puffer jacket, and a cigarette, Rob brought his signature warmth, humor, and boldness to every gathering.
He will be remembered for his magnetic personality and his ability to make friends wherever he went. His booming laugh, cheeky character, his cavalier attitude, and his hugs and shoulder rubs that somehow made everything else melt away will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He didn’t just show up—he made a mark.
He did things his way, and if it raised an eyebrow or pushed a limit, well, that was kind of the point...
Robby wasn’t one for half-measures. Whether it was building a business, taking a trip, telling a joke, cranking the volume or pushing the pedal, he showed up loud, real, and all in.
Rob is survived by his parents; sister, Christina Eilert, and her husband, Jacob Chapman; uncles Lee Trueax and Thomas Trueax; aunt Jean Trueax; cousins Thomas and Jack Trueax; his former wife Melissa "Missy" Eilert; her daughter; Parker; and his beloved chosen family of lifelong friends and loved ones.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
If it made a good story, he usually had one.
"If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever."
– David Ellsworth
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to consider a donation in Rob's memory to the St. Andrew UMC Golf Tournament (2025) - a cause close to his heart and one he proudly supported and joyfully played in for many years.
