Robert Edwin (Bob) Deline was born on June 22, 1930. A loving son, brother, husband, and father. His parents were Edwin Francis Deline and Leda (Choquette) Deline, his siblings were Joan Deline Thys (deceased) (Henry Thys, deceased), Howard I. (Jim) DeLine (deceased) (Kay DeLine), William J. (Bill) DeLine (Adele DeLine), John W. (Jack) DeLine (Anne DeLine). Bob is also survived by his loving wife Annabelle Monaghan Deline, his sons Robert H. Deline (Barbara Deline) and Thomas C. Deline (Margaret Deline), his grandchildren Robert E. Deline, William A. Deline (Paige Deline), Elizabeth Deline Williams (Brett Williams), Thomas C. Deline II, Brian E. Deline (Michele Deline), and Carrie B. Deline, and great-grandchildren Jameson Robert Deline and Hendrick Charles Williams.

Bob was Baptized, had his First Confession, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation in the Roman Catholic Church at St. Francis de Sales Parish, Denver, Colorado. Bob attended elementary school at St. Francis de Sales School. He attended Regis High School and excelled in athletics and academics. He was named All-City, All-State in Baseball and Football his Junior and Senior years in the Catholic Athletic Leagues. Bob then attended and graduated from Notre Dame University with a degree in engineering. He excelled in academics and was named Who's Who in America's Colleges.

While at Notre Dame he was enrolled in the NROTC program, and upon graduation was sworn in as an Ensign in the United States Navy. He was quickly assigned to a destroyer, DD789, USS Eversole and had two cruise deployments during the Korean War Conflict off the coast of Korea. The USS Eversole conducted shore bombardment and aircraft carrier protection deployments. He was a Lieutenant JG upon honorable discharge from the US Navy. He then served in the Naval Reserve for a number of years.

On September 12, 1953, Bob married his high school sweetheart Annabelle Monaghan at Christ the King Catholic Church. Together they created a close-knit loving family. He began his civilian career as a highway and bridge contractor/engineer for the JH & NM Monaghan Construction Company. After disbursal of that company, he joined Kilgroe Construction Company and then started Deline Construction Company to build highway bridges in Colorado. After his successful bridge building career, he returned to Monaghan Management Corp and managed one of the largest commercial wheat and grain farm enterprises in Eastern Colorado. Thereafter the business interests expanded with office building development, cattle ranch expansion and commercial real estate investments. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter throughout his life. He enjoyed deep sea sport fishing, fly fishing, and upland game bird hunting. Bob was also passionate about aviation and thoroughly enjoyed flying. He used his GI Bill to obtain his pilot’s license and after more than 50 years of safe aviation, in 2017, was awarded the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award.

Bob was also an experienced yachtsman and maintained power boats in Colorado, Mexico, and California for many decades. He thoroughly enjoyed taking family and friends sport fishing and on cocktail cruises. He was a Senior Flag Member at the Coronado Yacht Club and a Senior Member at the Denver Country Club. Bob was always very quiet about his philanthropic endeavors. He never sought praise or accolades for any of his fine work throughout his life. He was a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Good Lord took him home on November 13, 2023.

Funeral arrangements are through Horan & McConaty Mortuary. Recitation of the Rosary is on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 7pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, CO 80246. Funeral Mass to be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 11am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 830 Elm Street, Denver, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Bob's name to Regis Jesuit High School located in Aurora, Colorado.
